What’s on the collective minds of some of the “alpha’s” of the blogosphere?

Kathy Shaidle is talking about Japan’s continued victimhood which is reinforced by Western guilt and delivers the best line of the day:

There’s a memorial to the Japanese victims of Hiroshima/Nagasaki right in front of Toronto’s City Hall, and we’re Canadians. There is of course no memorial to the Allied soldiers who were tortured and cannibalized by the Japanese.

Ann Althouse experiences schadenfreude over Pajamas media’s apparent lack of traffic.

The interesting thing here is really that you can infer PJM isn’t drawing much traffic. They don’t have a Site Meter, but Amba does. The traffic she got from the link is the kind of traffic you’d get from a link from a blog with less than 1000 visitors a day.

Ouch way to make us small bloggers feel, well, smaller.

Captain’s Quarters reports on the US Navy’s plan to begin expanding its fleet:

Now that we have all discovered that history did not end in 1990 and that existential threats not only remained since then but thrived on our ignorance, the time has long since passed to bolster the Navy to ensure the security of both coasts. In a decade, the Chinese fleet may surpass our Pacific fleet in firepower, a dangerous imbalance not only for us but for our Pacific Rim allies such as Japan and South Korea. That shift in power will signal not just Beijing but other regimes and terrorist bands that the US has lost its primacy on the seas — and that will exponentially expand our problems

One of Damian’s many guest posters notes the latest news on Iran’s nuclear program with the quip:

Iran ‘Months Away’ from a Nuke”

Fine. Would that be…

…ours, or Israel’s?

Debbie Schlussel is optimistic about a new TV show about a Muslim sleeper cell called, Sleeper Cell.

What tells us most that this will probably be a great show: objections from far-left, self-anointed, unrepresentative Jewish “leaders” like Detroit’s Sharona Shapiro, who verbally services radical Islam as enthusiastically as Monica Lewinsky physically serviced Bill Clinton. She’s upset that Muslims are actually portrayed as terrorists, with one infiltrating the Los Angeles Jewish Community Center, posing as a Jewish coach for kids sports. This dupe, Shapiro, openly claims that we Americans are just not as smart as her on the “real Islam.” Puh-leeze. It’s vice versa. I’ve observed this calorically-gifted chick’s excessive pandering to the most extremist, pro-terror, anti-American, anti-Semitic Muslims (while they laughed at her), and it’s very clear she needs forced IQ and common sense injections.

I used to love it when Debbie would call in to Howard Stern regularly - I don’t hear her much any more however. Seems to coincide with Howard’s abrupt switch to the Michael Moore camp.

Hugh Hewitt
links to a Washington Post article about boys and college which I assume has something to do with the decline of male attendance but I haven’t had a chance to read the actual article yet. But it must be good cause Anne Althouse linked to it as well.

Glenn Reynolds
links to many things including Right Wing New’s Warblogger Awards
as did Kathy and Captain Ed.

LGF also has the Iran months away from Nukes story not once but twice.

Michelle Malkin is alive and also linking to the Warblogger awards plus others.

Pajama’s Media
has a slew of links up regarding a column by Zbigniew Brzezinski in the Washington Post, complaining for President Bush equating Islamic radicalism with communism

Powerline has a long piece up discussing a column by Charles Krauthammer on Palestine:

Well, has the Palestinian national movement matured, or might it do so in the future? I find this an amazingly poor performance from one of America’s most clear-eyed commentators on the Middle East. The evidence of the day seems to me rather powerfully to undercut his thesis.

Some of Kate’s guest posters are having trouble with html.

Finally Tim Blair is at his sarcastic best:

Mother Sheehan asks that her son’s killers forgive her…

Thing is, Casey Sheehan wasn’t killed by a lone gunman; the attack that left Sheehan and seven other soldiers dead involved multiple RPGs and small-arms fire. It’d be quite a crowd from whom Mother would be begging forgiveness, if ever she gets a chance to meet them personally: “You, the guy who launched the first grenade? Please forgive me. And you, the snarling fellow; I understand you were among several shooting at my son. Forgive me. Second grenade launcher, way over in the back there? Next to the third machine gunner? My apologies.” And so on

Boy that took a lot of work. One thing I noticed about most of these bloggers? No trackback feature on most of their blogs. If you read most articles on how to become a successful blogger everyon insists you must have a trackback feature. Guess these folks never read those articles.

Also if you think I have missed one of the big dogs of the blogosphere let me know.
